The cardboard manufactured by CELULOSA GALLUR is produced with 100% recycled fibers (post-consumer).
The majority of the produced cardboard is composed of five layers, and all cardboard qualities are fully recyclable. CELULOSA GALLUR employs only chemical agents for retention, antifoaming agents, and non-hazardous colorants. No starch or resins are used for adhesion. The applied chemical substances are always tested in accordance with health and safety legislation for employees, local residents, the environment, and end users.
Based on the use of recovered paper as a raw material, there are also traces of other chemical substances present in the cardboard. They mainly come from printing inks, varnishes, plasticizers, and chemicals from carbonless paper. The total level of heavy metals is below 100 ppm, and the total level of PCBs is below 1 ppm. All cardboard qualities are at a neutral pH or slightly above.

Compliance with Relevant Regulations and Food Contact Guidelines
Our cardboard is manufactured using recycled cardboard and paper, following traditional techniques and complying with current regulations regarding food contact.
We adhere to Recommendation XXXVI, “Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung. Empfehlung XXXVI. Papiere, Kartons und Pappen für denLebensmittelkontakt,” regarding the concentration of lead, cadmium, mercury, aluminum, bisphenol A + S, benzophenone, phthalates, primary aromatic amines, formaldehyde, DIPN, the fastness of papers treated with bleaching agents, color fastness, and transfer of antimicrobial constituents.
We comply with the guidelines on mineral oil migration for food packaged with recycled cardboard as specified in the document of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
Regarding the determination of extractive content, we comply with regulation 21CFR 176.170 for filling and storage at room temperature.
We meet the provisions of Directive 2004/12/EC on packaging and packaging waste, as well as Regulation (EC) 2023/2006 of the European Parliament and the Council concerning materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
Additionally, we analyze the pH in hot water extract and obtain satisfactory results in haloanisoles, halophenols, and polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) calculated using internal standard methods.
Traceability
According to Article 17 of Regulation 1935/2004, companies must implement, document, and maintain a traceability system. In order to properly track stored products, it is necessary to establish a robust traceability process. The purpose of this document is to determine the procedures to ensure the ability to trace the production batches of goods handled by CELULOSA GALLUR.
Traceability of materials must be ensured at all stages to facilitate control, recall of defective products, consumer information, and assignment of responsibilities. Considering technological feasibility, the company implements systems and procedures to identify the companies from which materials have been received or to which materials have been supplied.
The marketed materials must be identifiable through an appropriate system that allows their traceability through labeling or relevant documentation. This ensures a thorough record from the moment the product enters our facilities until it reaches our customers, enabling effective traceability management. Each incident occurring in the reception or dispatch of goods should be related to the Non-Conformity Report, including the corrective measures taken.
Cardboard Storage Recommendations
For optimal performance, please follow this simple guide:
When unable to store under normal temperature and relative humidity conditions, it is recommended that the product be taken to the production area for a recommended period of 24 hours before use.
In some cases, the conditions in the production area may be extremely humid or dry. If both areas have extreme conditions, the product should be used as soon as possible and kept with shrink wrap until use.
The cardboard should be conditioned under optimal climatic conditions to achieve the best result.
It is very important to allow the merchandise to acclimate to the production room environment.
The effect of relative humidity and temperature can alter the properties of the cardboard. It is proven that cardboard absorbs more water under air circulation than in still air. It is also known that cardboard is highly sensitive to atmospheric conditions. The fibers it is composed of absorb water, swell, and weaken in humid environments, and release water and harden in dry environments.
STORE ON DRY AND FLAT PALLETS IN A HORIZONTAL POSITION UNTIL USE. If the storage conditions are extreme, keep the merchandise with shrink wrap.
